• Private development of a sports facility – almost all of these style of facilities with the focus on track and other sports amenities are constructed 100% by taxpayer dollars.  The indoor sporsts complex will provide indoor space for numerous groups (as exemplified by the amount of groups supporting this project at the planning board in November and listing entities on the letters of support attached to the application – and additional benefits of visitors staying in hotels, eating, shopping, etc.  
• Nearly $80 million private investment.
• The project is going to generate significant new revenue from what was until recently publicly owned property.  The PILOT numbers are offset (15-year on the sports facility, 10-year on the hotel) by the amount of new revenue generated from PILOT payments.
• This fits perfectly into the Town’s 2023 Strategic Economic Development Plan which suggested an opportunity to lean in on more sports tourism building on the success of the Northtown Center complex.
